Principal's Message

Welcome to St. Joseph’s Primary School, Junee!
Our incredible school community is known as the ‘BIG HEART IN A LITTLE TOWN’. At St. Joseph’s we don’t just educate minds, we educate hearts as well. We are a K - 6 co-educational Catholic Primary School, proudly recognised for offering a quality, affordable and inclusive education in a nurturing and caring environment.
At St. Joseph’s, when we enrol a child, we enrol the whole family. As the first educators of their children, parents play a crucial role, working with teachers and other school staff to support their children’s wellbeing and improve their learning outcomes. Positive
relationships with students and their families based on trust, respect and support are built. We put the interest and needs of our students at the centre of all our decision making. The primary school years are a journey we take together and we invite parents to participate in the life of the school at every opportunity.
St. Joseph’s offers a holistic education that acknowledges the need for spiritual as well as social, physical, relational, mental and academic education. The students participate in a rich curriculum that incorporates the fundamental aspects of learning with technological innovation. Each student K-6 has access to individual ipads or Chrome books to develop their skills as 21st century learners. Our newly built, state of the art classrooms are flexible learning spaces that provide a contemporary and comfortable approach to learning. Students have plenty of space to play in the picturesque school grounds and are taught to be stewards of our environment.
The staff at St. Joseph’s are highly dedicated and committed to the learning, wellbeing and support of all of our students. Through our school rules, Right place, right time, right task; friendly words and actions; play fair, care and share; learn and let learn we aim to develop quality relationships built on respect, inclusiveness and empathy.
We have a number of specialty educators on staff who provide a wealth of knowledge in their field to support both staff and students in enhancing the teaching and learning environment at St. Joseph’s. Our Maths and Literacy Instructional teachers are consistently providing our classroom teachers with innovative and effective
classroom practices, as well as in-depth and explicit assessment data on each student to inform future teaching.
The Inclusion and Diverse Learning teacher provides support to staff, students, parents and external service providers for students who require academic, mental, emotional, social or developmental support. We have a partnership with Centacare who provide weekly counselling sessions for students and work closely with staff, students and parents to ensure the on-going development and improvement of the mental health and wellbeing of our students.
With the support of these amazing and committed staff members, our teaching and administrative staff aim to ensure every day is a successful, enjoyable and positive day in the life of our students. You are always welcome at St. Joseph’s and we look forward to seeing you all soon.
